**Role description**

To supervise classes during the short-term absence of the assigned teacher, to undertake supervision duties and to work in the school office as required.

**Specific responsibilities**
- **Cover Supervisory Tasks**:_
- Use of iSAMS and taking registers.
- Supervise work that has been set by a teacher.
- Manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment.
- Respond to any questions from pupils about process and procedures.
- Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures.
- Collect completed work after the lesson and pass to the appropriate teacher.
- Report, as appropriate using the school’s agreed referral procedures, on the behaviour of pupils during the class and on any problems arising.
- Supervision before/after school, and during break and lunch times.
- Occasional invigilation.
- **Office related tasks**:_
- Able to use various IT packages including MS Word and Excel and Google Drive proficiently.
- Receptionist cover, including dealing with visitors and being the first point of call for telephone calls for Stephen Perse.
- Willing and able to provide secretarial and administrative support.
- Sending out mailings to parents and students using the ParentMail communication system and collate and manipulate spreadsheets Google.
- Assist with the administration for special events such as Parents' Evening, Speech Day and Open Days (and work these evening and weekend events on occasion, as required, and by prior agreement)
- Photocopying/scanning/filing.
- Any other administration duties that might be reasonably asked by Stephen Perse.

**General Responsibilities**
- Act as an excellent ambassador for Stephen Perse at all times.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all Stephen Perse colleagues.
- Assist as necessary in other Stephen Perse areas at peak times.
- Work at all times towards the aims and goals of Stephen Perse and any individual objectives and targets you may have agreed.
- Proactively identify areas for improvements within Stephen Perse.
- Actively promote Stephen Perse Equal Opportunities Policy, encouraging staff awareness and participation in all areas.
- Act in accordance with the Data Protection principles at all times.
- Adhere at all times to Stephen Perse operational and employment policies and procedures.
- Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do).
- Cooperate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
- Follow the training you have received when using any work items Stephen Perse has provided.
- Adhere to Stephen Perse’s Privacy Notice and ensure private and confidential data is kept secure and disposed of in the appropriate manner.

**Terms and conditions**

**Hours of work**

This role is term-time only, 36 weeks per year, 08:00 - 16:00. We are seeking to recruit either one full-time or two part-time Cover Supervisors. There is the option to extend to 17:30 on some days. The working days can be discussed in more detail at interview stage.

**Salary**

Based on working 37.5 hours per week, the salary is £20,810 per annum (£25,664 FTE). Please note, if you work less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be adjusted accordingly.
