As a drum tutor at DCP Drums Limited, you'll be responsible for delivering lessons to groups of children of all ages, abilities, and needs. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to travel throughout your area, visiting schools and spreading the joy of music. You'll be able to see the progress of your students first hand and watch as they develop their love of music and drumming under your guidance.

You'll also have the opportunity to build positive relationships with children and staff alike. You'll also record videos and communicate with parents through our online platform to provide updates on student performance and maintain register records.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Your primary responsibility will be to deliver engaging and effective drum lessons to groups of children in primary schools.
- You'll need to have a good understanding of our curriculum and be able to adapt your lessons to suit the abilities of your students.
- You'll need to have a good classroom presence and be able to manage the behaviour of your students.
- You’ll need to have the ability to create a positive and safe learning environment and set clear expectations.
- You'll be responsible for developing lesson plans that are tailored to the needs of your students. This includes selecting appropriate materials and activities, setting clear learning objectives, and differentiating instruction to meet the diverse needs of your students.
- You'll need to be able to communicate effectively with parents and school staff. This includes providing regular updates on student progress, attending meetings, and responding to any concerns or questions that may arise.
- You'll need to keep accurate records of your students' progress, including attendance records.
- You'll need to be able to travel to multiple schools throughout the week. It's important to have a valid driver's license and access to a car, as well as the ability to plan and organise your travel schedule efficiently.
- You’ll need to keep abreast of the latest teaching methods and trends in music education. This includes participating in professional development opportunities, attending workshops, and staying informed about changes to the curriculum.

We do require adaptability and flexibility. You'll often be working with different students, staff and school environments, so it's important to be able to adjust quickly and work effectively in a variety of settings.

**Qualifications and skills**
- A minimum of grade C in Maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent)
- The ability to play the drums to a high standard
- Experience working with children is desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of different drumming styles and techniques
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Patience and ability to work with students of varying skill levels
- Flexibility to travel different locations for lessons
- Experience teaching in a group setting is desired
- Willingness to continue professional development and take on new challenges
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and their families.
- Employees will be DBS checked upon joining so must have a clean criminal record
- A valid UK driver’s license and full access to a car
