**About the role and our team**

We are looking for compassionate and caring **Macmillan Cancer Support Volunteers** to join the Macmillan Cancer Information Centre at Noble's Hospital. Our Service operates between 9:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday.

This voluntary role offers you a unique opportunity to support patients with information regarding cancer.

You’ll assist patients with a range of duties, including:

- ** Welcoming** and putting them at ease
- ** Communicating** effectively and clearly, finding out if they need any help or information
- ** Providing** **them with the opportunity to talk about their feelings, offering them support through empathy and a listening ear
- ** Ensuring** **that information leaflets are kept up to date and in stock

Full training will be provided and you’ll receive a free meal voucher for our staff canteen at the beginning/end of each shift.

**Additional information**

Please note a basic police check is required for this post, which Manx Care will cover the cost of for you.
