**Estimator/Buyer**

Triex LTD is seeking a talented and experienced Estimator/Buyer to join our team. As the Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the effective management of our Estimating Department, ensuring projects are tendered successfully, delivered on time, and within budget. Your expertise will be instrumental in winning new tenders and bringing exciting projects to our business.

At Triex, we are innovating the delivery on infrastructure, combining expert engineering with strong customer service, contract management and operational planning capabilities. Our expertise and understanding of power networks, telecoms, HV, LV and EV systems enables us to provide a range of integrated installation solutions, from inception to completion, that meet the highly challenging and technically demanding needs of our customers. The role will be based primarily in Coleraine, with very occasional travel to the UK and Europe.

**The Role**

**Estimating**
- Full management of the Estimating /Buying Department.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Commercial Team to refine estimates and incorporate project-specific details.
- Identify potential risks related to procurement and cost estimation and develop mitigation strategies.
- Execute pre-qualification questionnaires and onboarding process for new suppliers and contractors.
- Undertake Tender Enquiry activities, considering both commercial and technical aspects while adhering to our non-collusive policy.
- Review of project specifications, programmes and Bill of Quantities.
- Creating Bill of Quantities and pricing documents.
- Analyse project specifications, drawings and other documentation to identify cost components.
- Engage with pre-qualified supply chain rates and prices for projects and establishing opportunities for value engineering.
- Provide technical guidance, advice, and bid support, including tender programmes and methodologies.
- Producing quotations and offers for schemes.
- Conduct site visits when necessary to understand tender requirements.

**Procurement**
- Full management of the Estimating /Buying Department.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Commercial Team to refine estimates and incorporate project-specific details.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favourable pricing and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, contracts and correspondence.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry networks and clients.
- Producing subcontractor pricing documents.

**Essential Criteria**
- At least 3 years’ sufficient experience in construction.
- A-levels and University degree; BSc or MSc in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Procurement preferred.
- Experience in subcontractor, labour and materials procurement.
- Fluency in Excel.

**Desirable Criteria**
- 1-2 years in construction; estimating or quantity surveying.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Construction Industry if no formal 3rd level degree.
