**Estimator/Buyer Role**

At TriEx the role of the Buyer / Estimator plays a crucial part in our project management and delivery by effectively managing procurement processes and estimating costs associated with construction or similar projects. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and technical knowledge to ensure that projects are executed within budgetary constraints and with high-quality materials and services. Reporting to the Project Manager, it is a role within the Project Team, one that is key to accelerating and promoting TriEx’s brand though great relationship building and stakeholder management.

**Responsibilities**
- Procurement Management_
- Work alongside the Business Development Manager to source, evaluate, and select suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for various project requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favourable pricing and delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and ethical practices.
- Cost Estimation_
- Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
- Analyse project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to identify cost components.
- Collaborate with project managers and site team to refine estimates and incorporate project-specific details.
- Budget Control:_
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure adherence to cost estimates.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering alternatives.
- Prepare cost reports and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
- Vendor Relationship Management:_
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Evaluate vendor performance and address any issues related to quality, timeliness, or

cost.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve supplier relationships and enhance

procurement processes.
- Risk Assessment:_
- Identify potential risks related to procurement and cost estimation and develop mitigation

strategies.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry regulations, and economic factors that could impact project costs.
- Documentation and Reporting:_
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, contracts, and correspondence.
- Generate reports detailing procurement and cost estimation status for project

stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration:_
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to align

procurement strategies with project goals.
- Provide input and expertise during project planning and design phases.
- Commercial Control_
- A “price to win” mindset, setting accurate and detailed budgets for projects or business

operations.
- Regularly reviewing and adjusting margins and budgets based on actual expenses and

progress.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with accounting to ensure that the set

controls are met any anomalies dealt with in a timely manner.
- Role model a “treat every pound as your own” ethos throughout the TriEx team, enabling

a profitable business mindset.

**Salary**: Up to £40,000 _**dependent on experience.**_
