**Job description**
**Entitlements**: 30 days paid holiday (including bank holidays), company pension scheme, full training, workplace reviews.
**Hours**:37.5 hours p/week 8am - 4pm
The position of Laboratory Administrator will be based at our Durham office. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager and Contracts Manager where appropriate, it is the responsibility of the Laboratory Administrator to collate and input all laboratory and site testing data, using the relevant computer programme or equivalent in a timely manner. The Laboratory Administrator also collates data for suppliers and clients, assists the Laboratory Manager and the Quality & Technical Manager in the administration of the Calibration and Training Records, assists in monitoring the laboratory turnaround times and KPI’s, as well as general administrative duties as required by the department and the business.
The key requirements of the role are:
- Ensuring all laboratory and site testing data is collated, processed and reported within the requirements of the relevant test standards and in a timely manner
- Ensuring work quality, during the job and upon completion
- Ensuring client contract reviews are filled out and sent where required
- Ensuring laboratory turn around times and KPI's are monitored
- To attend and complete approved training courses as requested
- Ensuring the required standards of general house-keeping are met and workplace efficiency is maintained using 5S methodology as appropriate
Essential:
- A full UK driving licence
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise
- Strong safety awareness
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with others
- Able to work well under pressure and respond positively
Desirable:
- Understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, British Standards and UKAS
- An understanding of Quality Control
- Experience in having been trained and assessed in Laboratory Administrator skills
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Excel
- Having an understanding of COSHH and chemical safety requirements
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £21,500.00-£23,000.00 per year
