Our client is a small boutique insurance services firm, based in Newry, who are seeking to grow by adding two new experienced hires to the team**:Account Handler (Personal Lines) and Account Handler (Commercial)**. It is a small independently owned practice with a solid reputation in Newry and surrounding areas. With more new business coming in than they can currently handle, they need a safe pair of hands to help them work through the day-to-day without much hand-holding.
Given the small nature of the office, it is essential we find an account handler with commercial experience who will fit into a small team environment and who is confident and capable to work off their own initiative most times.
In the new role you will be responsible for providing quotations, renewals, mid-term adjustments and amendments on policies ranging from £100’s to £1000’s. You will be expected to deal with all types of customers professionally and efficiently to meet their needs and expectations.
In the new role you will assume responsibility for part of their commercial client book and drive new business across broad SME and commercial classes of insurance. Our client is looking for people to provide the highest standards of customer care for both new and existing clients whilst also building positive rapport and relationships to foster repeat business.
Ideally you will be an account handler with previous commercial experience in a broking environment, have achieved or are on the way to achieving Cert II or relevant Insurance qualification, and work well within a small team environment.
**What will I be responsible for?**
You will provide a complete professional service to new prospects, existing clients and your account executives in respect of quotations, adjustments, renewals and claims.
**Your standard work duties include**:
- Negotiating with underwriters to find the best price
- Advising clients on risk management/mitigation
- Working to deadlines for renewals
- Ensure efficiency and streamlined workflows where possible in your process
- Support senior staff when required
To fit within our client's work culture and be able to demonstrate you have similar work ethics and ethos, you will likely be able to prove the following:
- **Minimum of 2 years’ account handling experience in a commercial role**:
- Experience within a broking environment (preferable)
- Experience handling your own accounts (essential)
- Professional qualification - CII or working towards professional qualifications (ideal)
- Being able to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and compliance framework in which you operate in.
