Accounts Payable Assistant

**Rule Purpose**: To accurately check invoices approved for payment against goods received and to be responsible and to support customers and departments in dealing with finance issues.
**Accountable to**: Accounts Payable Lead
**Key Relationships**:Accounts team and payroll, trading and warehouse tams, external clients and customers.
**About The Role**
- Invoice posting and matching to goods received/purchase invoices.
- Coding and processing of purchase invoices.
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Dealing with supplier queries and credit claims
- Match deliveries to invoices, checking for shorts, returns and damages.
- Creditor payment reconciliations
- Other administration and office duties as required.
- To act as an ambassador for Savage & Whitten and behave in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- To work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
- Any other duties that may be deemed appropriate by your immediate manager.
**Required Criteria**
- GCSE Maths & English or equivalent
- High level of expertise in use of Microsoft packages including Excel and Word
- Ability to work to strict deadlines
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
- Adaptable to changing priorities
- Able to manage a high-volume workload
- Able to work in fast paced commercial environment
- Customer focused
- Have a methodical and meticulous work approach
- Self motivated
- Calm and professional manner
- Able to operate outside core hours when required and travel to other sites on occasions.
**Desired Criteria**
- Have are working towards an Accounts or Business qualification, e.g. Degree/HND in business or Accounting Technician
