Following approval from the Department of Education, HEE was awarded funding to develop a NHS National Supported Internship programme for young people with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities (LDD) as well as Autism.

This very unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to support students with their education within this Supported Internship programme.

We are looking for 2x Learning Support Assistants to work closely with our Tutors in delivering the educational outcomes of Employability and Functional skills qualifications

The post holder will be a confident communicator with students who have a range of learning disabilities and have recent extensive experience in supporting the education of students with SEN on a 1 to 1 basis in the classroom.

A passion for supporting students with SEN to meet their full potential is essential for this role.

Based in the Teeside locality, the post holder will be required to work at various sites across the Teeside and North Yorkshire Locality. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

The Learning Support Assistant’s main duties will include supporting delivery of bespoke Employability training and functional skills to interns, supporting the delivery of sessions in a classroom setting. Maintaining weekly individual records for each student that meet inspection requirements, is also a part of this role.

**The LSA will**:

- Support SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis in the classroom
- Providing targeted support outside of the classroom such as the intern’s placement
- Work on differentiated activities with groups of students
- Liaise with the tutor to deliver SEN provision
- Support the development of social/emotional skills of the Project Choice students
- Work with tutors to monitor progress of pupils
