Stevenston, United Kingdom TribePost Full time

Hansel Alliance are recruiting for **Support Workers**

**Support Workers**

**Salary**: £10.90 per hour
**Service**:North Ayrshire Supported Living Service - Community Based Services, KA20 3LR.
**Hours**: Full-time and Part-time positions available

We are looking for creative, caring and compassionate people to join our team.

We support a large number of adults, living in their own homes across Ayrshire. The aim of our support is to provide each person whatever assistance they need, to live as independently as they can, be part of their community, have meaningful activities and build and maintain relationships and friendships.

We enable the people we support to have the best possible life they can. Most supports are carried out on a 1:1 basis but we will also support individuals to meet up with friends and join in with group activities. The person may be going on a trip to the cinema, meeting up with a friend to go swimming, bowling or for something to eat, or music group. Team members may support more than one person in a day and every day is different. You will enable every person to make choices and create opportunities to do the things they want to do.

Most roles involve working with individuals on a 1:1 basis but whichever service new team members join, they will be part of a small team and will regularly support the same people. Team members will build strong relationships and get to know the people they support well. All team members are supported by a service Coordinator and will meet up regularly with other people working as part of their team.

Experience in delivering formal social care supports or personal caring experience is desirable but not essential.

**Essential criteria for the post include**:

- Excellent people skills
- Flexibility to work a needs-led rota
- Good team working, problem solving and communication skills
- The ability to support people in a person-centred way to offer choice and promote inclusion.
- An enthusiastic attitude to developing skills in Social Care
- The ability to respect and appreciate peoples’ differences and treat everyone as equals
- The ability to attain registration with regulatory bodies
- Basic IT skills

**When you join our NASL team you will also;**
- Receive full induction training, shadowing experienced colleagues and access to additional training you may need to enable you to confidently support individuals.
- Have an opportunity to gain a relevant SVQ qualification in Health and Social Care.
- Access to 24-hour on call management support when you need it.
- Work various shift patterns with at least one weekend off in every four.
- Receive pay for your travel time and travel expenses if travelling between supports

We carefully match all team members to particular individuals we support depending on their skills, experience, knowledge, availability and interests.
