The Mental Health Directorates aim to ensure the assessment and provision of person-centred specialist health and social care services which promote an individual's right to choice, independence, health and wellbeing in line with their assessed needs and in a way that enables them to reach their full potential.

To ensure that there are robust clinical governance arrangements that work effectively in the Directorates and help to improve the outcomes for patients and their families and or carers.

To lead on oversight of complaints, audit, NICE processes, CQC compliance assurance, serious incidents, peer reviews.

To provide specialist clinical input into the planning, development, and evaluation of Mental Health services, holding responsibility for defined projects as delegated by the senior operational and governance team in the Directorate.

To support on the carers involvement work for the Directorate.
