Integrated Therapy Assistant

We are recruiting a paediatric therapy assistant to support the existing assistant and registered workforce within our integrated service. We are seeking a friendly, dynamic and passionate colleague to join us in transforming our Paediatric Services across the communities we serve.
As an assistant you will be supported by the therapy team to gain the required competencies to support individual and group therapy sessions in clinic, education and community settings. You will also support colleagues to run gym groups, pilates and hydrotherapy.
You will also have the opportunity to work alongside other allied therapy and nursing colleagues within the team, to enable you to work as an integrated member of the service. You will work well in a team environment, be highly committed and enjoy autonomy within your role. This role will require travel within the geographical area of North East Essex.
Experience of working with children, young people and their families with or without disabilities is desirable but not essential.

You will be required to carry out a wide range of duties to support the integrated paediatric therapy team in the delivery of a high-quality care. The emphasis for your work is to work under the guidance and supervision of qualified practitioners to implement care plans and treatment interventions.
You will carry out designated tasks working under the supervision of the registered clinicians.
It is essential that you are a car driver as you will be expected to travel across the North East Essex area.
- Deliver programmes of therapeutic activities tailored to individuals and groups within a framework laid down by the registered clinicians.
- To be able to gain effective consent from the carer and child prior to any intervention being undertaken.
- To be able to review a child appropriately and feedback to the case holding PT/OT any changes in condition or concerns that may arise.
- To be able to implement programmes of PT/OT as provided by the treating clinician.
- To be able to provide, review and alter an appropriate piece of equipment for the child, under guidance from a qualified PT/OT.
