Buying Assistant

Our established client currently has an exciting vacancy for a Buying Assistant / Purchasing Executive to provide support to the Buying/Purchasing team.
This would be an ideal position for someone who has a real passion and interest in Buying / Purchasing and a keen desire to develop a career in this area.
- **Key Responsibilities will include**:_
- Providing administrative support to the buying team who are sourcing materials and goods from international suppliers.
- Raising purchase orders and placing orders with suppliers in the UK, Europe, and Far East
- Raising and accurately processing a large number of Purchase Orders for many customers.
- Confirming Pro forma’s and order confirmations
- Work with the Sales and Design teams to ensure suppliers have all the necessary information for planned orders, to enable production and deliveries to progress efficiently
- Manage and maintain department critical paths, involving chasing relevant suppliers and communicating any changes to the relevant team
- Plan and arrange deliveries from port to warehouse and to ensure timely arrivals.
- Monitoring deliveries, following the goods through Customs clearance.
- Manage and maintain shipping and product trackers
- Checking packaging artwork to ensure agreement with ingredient lists and safety data sheets.
- Sample management Management of samples in and out of the business (unpacking, sending out - Organise sample room)
- Enjoy working in a busy, demanding and fast-pace environment
- Excellent organisational skills
- Highly administrative, professional and organised.
- Excellent at multi-tasking, effective time management skills + ability to manage/prioritise workload
- Works well under pressure
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - excel is the key
- Excellent communication skills to all levels of the business
- Sage experience is beneficial, but not essential
