**Conveyancing Legal Assistant
- Fulltime - Permanent - Grimsby**

Appoint Consulting is proud to be working with a well-established, forward thinking legal firm in the Grimsby area to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant to join their Conveyancing Department.

**Purpose of the Conveyancing Legal Assistant role**:
To provide cost effective administration and legal support to the partner and other fee earners in the team in the work of the Department.

**Conveyancing Legal Assistant Responsibilities**:

- Handling own caseload of files from instruction, to issuing proceedings and enforcement and under the supervision of a more senior fee earner.
- Undertake certain elements of fee earning work under supervision. In particular:

- file creation.
- Generation of suitable client care correspondence.
- Completion of client questionnaires.
- Drafting of petition/court documentation.
- Attendance at routine meetings/interlocutory hearings.
- Deal wherever possible with routine client enquiries and communications.
- Manage the collation of matter start and matter completion data by agreement with the fee earners in the Department.
- General administrative tasks, including monthly reporting on cases for client purposes and invoicing of files.
- Deputise for fee earners in their absence if necessary, passing urgent issues to another senior fee earner for guidance (if a small team).
- Comply faithfully in all respects with directions and/or requests from the Partner/fee earners you are responsible to
- Comply with the department's policy in so far as own caseload is concerned regarding taking and confirming instructions; client care; file management; file organisation and file review procedures
- Use the firm's IT solutions to implement, manage and maintain own diary system to ensure the efficient progress of own caseload
- Seek assistance whenever appropriate from Partner/colleagues in respect of unusual or difficult problems/issues arising on any cases
- Contribute towards own self development and attend training arranged for you
- Provide support to other fee earners as required
- Report immediately to the Partner on any issue/complaint re: professional conduct and/or client dissatisfaction and/or potential negligence or negative costs implications for the firm
- Promote good relations with other members of staff and facilitate teamwork

- Great attention to detail and communication skills are required
