Our’s is a B2C business, directly servicing consumers with a growing range of premium quality products - from home and garden items, to sport and hardware equipment, from vehicle and DIY projects to business and industry items.

**We are currently seeking to recruit a Health and Safety Officer to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00am to 5:30pm (actual hours to be discussed and confirmed during interview).**

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Being responsible for assisting management with all aspects of the health, safety and environmental practice on site.
- Delivering best practice, complying with legislation and promoting a proactive safe and environmentally friendly culture.
- To manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety are adhered to.

**Role Requirements**:

- Assist managers, supervisors & staff to identify & report hazards / near misses in the workplace, and to take corrective action or initiate controls to minimise the risk.
- Ensuring accident investigations are completed in a timely manner, including any requirement for RIDDOR reporting plus actions are implemented to prevent reoccurrence at the site (inclusive of major incidents).
- Implementation of the group H&S strategic plans to raise the standards of health & safety at the site.
- Advise managers and supervisors in the implementation of practices and procedures to ensure that the site complies with statutory requirements and guidelines.
- Assist with in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.
- Review and update the training requirements of the department in line with current legislation.
- All relevant risk assessments and safe working procedures are reviewed to current methods.
- Assist with the development, implementation and communication of all relevant HSE policies at the site.
- To create and maintain a short, medium and long-term Health, Safety & Environmental improvement plan and programme manage the implementation of initiatives.
- Undertake relevant Safety, Health and Environment audit and create action plan based upon findings.
- Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins
- Hazards and near miss reporting training.
- Accident investigation training.
- Detailed knowledge of systems, processes, and procedures.
- Experience of working in a warehouse or similar environment (preferred)
- Experience of formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures
- Microsoft excel, word & PowerPoint as you will be writing and refining policies and procedures in startup period.
