Salisbury, United Kingdom Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An opportunity has opened up at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT) for a Highly Specialist CRM Cardiac Physiologist to join our team. Applicants for this role must hold BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA accreditation but we would welcome newly accredited applicants.

The last 12 months have been an exciting time at SFT with a new CRM Lead Consultant and CRM Lead Cardiac Physiologist. We have started our Conduction System Pacing programme and are expanding our remote monitoring service with a view to extending this to all our patients over the coming years. We are forward-thinking, embrace new technology and continually seek to improve services. The Cardiac Investigations Unit has very recently relocated to a larger, refurbished department which affords us with new clinic rooms, admin spaces and staff areas.

At SFT we have an excellent track record of supporting continuing professional development (including professional exams) and further academic study. We also seek to have representation at national and regional meetings.

SFT is located in the beautiful city of Salisbury which is itself set in a stunning area, close to the New Forest and the coast. Salisbury has excellent transport links to Southampton, Bournemouth and beyond.

We would advise making contact with us for an informal chat, at which time we can arrange a visit if you would like.

At SFT we implant pacemakers, ICDs (including S-ICD), CRT devices, and Conduction System Pacing. In this role you would be expected to independently follow-up all CRM devices (including remote) and carry out any appropriate reprogramming as necessary in accordance with current national and local guidelines. You would also be expected to support the implant of all CRM devices, calling upon industry support where necessary. Beyond the clinical scope of the role you would also be required to support the Lead CRM Cardiac Physiologist with matters of service development as well as day to day responsibilities such as stock management, data entry/submission and management of manufacturer advisories, as well as provision of training to junior members of the team and wider MDT.

At SFT we perform coronary angiography and intervention, providing a Primary PCI service during normal hours. You would be required to work independently in this area and participate in our on-call service which incorporates pacemaker implant.

There is also a full non-invasive service for which you may be called upon to provide support for the provision of exercise testing (including alongside Radiology for perfusion scanning), ambulatory monitoring and ECG.

You would be expected to manage your own learning including keeping up to date with emerging evidence and current guidance, but you would be supported in doing so.

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust (SFT) is an innovative hospital with a proud heritage and over 250 years of experience behind us. Here we’re driven to deliver an outstanding experience for everyone and have been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment we continue to provide for our patients and also our staff.

We are an acute Trust, rated “Good” by the CQC, with a track record of high performance providing regional and super regional specialist services such as: Burns, Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery, Wessex Regional Genetics Laboratory, Wessex Rehabilitation, Spires Cleft Centre and the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre. We have about 470 beds and employ over 4000 staff.

We support flexible working and will consider requests taking into account the needs of the service. We think working here is pretty rewarding. You can access a range of NHS discounts, receive a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme. On-site benefits include car parking (fee applies), leisure centre, day nursery and holiday play scheme.

Please see attached Job description and person specification for full details of roles and responsibilities.
