**Job Title: Credit Controller**
**Responsible to: Credit Control Manager**
**Location: Lea Riverside**

**OVERALL ROLE**
To support the credit control activities through the daily administration of debt recovery procedure in line with the company’s policy.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Maintain aged debts and pro-actively monitor invoice collections.
- Maintain records of chasing activity, ensuring that accurate notes are logged against customer invoices and accounts detailing discussions and queries.
- Sales ledger reconciliation.
- Deal with new customer accounts, including obtaining credit references, setting up account details and agreeing credit limits.
- Monitor creditworthiness of existing customers.
- Handle disputed customer accounts and negotiate accordingly to bring in monies in line with payment terms.
- Evaluate accounts for debt collection and legal action, escalate where appropriate to the Credit Control Manager.
- Post and allocate customers receipts
- Answer queries and enquiries from internal and external customers.
- Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met.
- Undertake any ad hoc administration duties to ensure the smooth running of the department as and when required Person Specification: You should be able to work effectively under pressure to meet strict collection targets and deadlines. You are a responsible and conscientious individual, who is self motivated with the ability to work autonomously with minimum amount of supervision.
**Skills / Attributes Required**:
- Able to demonstrate a minimum of 3 years experience working as Credit Controller while liaising with key customers.
- Can anticipate development to identify accounts that will require special attention
- Well organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well within a team as well as autonomously
- Possess a good understanding of Great Plains or a similar windows based package and Microsoft offices packages (Word & Excel)
- Experience of providing Credit Control to organisations within the Recycling and Waste Management industry is desired but not essential.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £30,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
