Align JV are recruiting for an Environmental Advisor to join our talented Sustainability and Environmental team supporting our Align project. You’ll be responsible for monitoring compliance with project consents and client requirement, managing environmental permits, legislation, assistance in the delivery of the EMS, ecological supervision and supporting our site and production teams.

**_The role _**
- Overseeing, the delivery of all measures detailed in the Site-Specific Environmental Management Plan (SS-EMP) for the site and supporting method statements, including inspections of the works
- Preventing, investigating and reporting on environmental incidents
- Management of the monitoring of air, noise and water in accordance with agreed limits
- Quality control of the embedded environmental mitigation measures during the construction phases
- Leading and assisting in the delivery of the management of environmental issues
- Liaising with the Align’s project management teams
- Reviewing relevant documents, including risk assessments and evidence relating to all proposed work activities
- Determining what measures are required and need to be implemented for work activities and how they will be communicated to work teams
- Liaising with stakeholders and local authorities as required
- Checking, preparing and reviewing environmental documentation.

**_About you:_**
You’ll be an Environmental/Sustainability professional with experience gained across the construction/civil engineering ideally onsite/projects.

Membership of IEMA, CIWEM, CIWM, IES or equivalent environmental organisation would be desirable.

Experience of working across water management, landscaping or material management would be highly advantageous.

Be a collaborator, proactive, an influencer, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder (internal and external) engagement skills

**_About Align JV_**
The construction of the Chiltern tunnels and Colne Valley Viaduct are two of the most eye-catching and challenging engineering projects on the HS2 route. The C1 Package includes the following elements:

- The Colne Valley Viaduct which a 3+ km long and spanning the lakes of the Colne Valley (architectural images can be found online).
- Chiltern Tunnels - 2 x 16km long tunnels through the Chiltern Hills
- Western Valley Slopes (South Portal) - 2.5km of earthworks including the TBM launching portal and main compound in Maple Cross housing the TBM plant and equipment, main offices and tunnel/viaduct pre cast yards
- 5 x Ventilation Shafts at Chalfont St. Peter, Chalfont St. Giles, Amersham, Little Missenden and Chesham. Shaft depth between 35m-65m with diaphragm walls up to 80m deep. Headhouses at each location.
