This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated HR Advisor to join the Caledonian Sleeper (CSL) HR Team.

The HR Advisor role is a new role within the CSL HR team which will provide professional HR support and advice to people managers and our teams on a wide range of human resource matters. This role involves working closely across the business to ensure HR policies and procedures are implemented effectively and consistently. The HR Advisor acts as the first point of contact for all HR queries, the end-to-end employee journey. Managing employee relation cases, recruitment and onboarding. Also managing performance, absence management and HR reporting. This role will support the HR Operations Lead, Head of HR and the broader business at Caledonian Sleeper.

It is an exciting time to become part of the HR team as we shape our new HR operating model, systems, and practices. You will have the opportunity to help shape our HR strategy and key focus areas following the transition across to Scottish Rail Holdings.

**Main Accountabilities**:
Provide advice and support to managers and employees on HR queries, policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
Act as a trusted advisor and coach for people managers, providing guidance on employee relations, absence management, policies and procedures.
Provide high quality HR advice and guidance to people managers to facilitate the early resolution of all employee relations cases ensuring that the risks are effectively managed.
Support the Resourcing Partner with recruitment sourcing and attraction.
Lead on new employee orientation and onboarding processes, ensuring offer letters, contracts and new starter paperwork is delivered in a timely manner.
Cultivate strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, offering expert support and advice.
Support Performance Management activities, coaching and developing line manager capability.
Collaborate with the HR Operations Lead to develop and implement HR policies and procedures ensuring compliance with current legislation.
Contribute to HR Operational change people projects aligned with the HR Strategy, collaborating closely with the HR Operations Lead and the wider HR function to enhance service delivery continuously.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
Design and lead on HR reports and analytics to monitor key HR metrics.
Continually review and streamline people processes to ensure excellent service delivery to our people and teams, identify trends or metrics to enable continuous improvement and evolution of HR Operational Performance.

**What you’ll need**:
A relevant HR qualification
Strong HR generalist experience, particularly in case management, first point of contact for HR queries and supporting end to end employee lifecycle.
Strong working knowledge and experience of HR Operational capabilities and processes, full employee lifecycle, onboarding, offboarding, and performance management.
A focus on continuous improvement, with a willingness to challenge and contribute to change.
You will be confident working with HR Systems, Excel and other Microsoft Office packages and will have a strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate/interpret HR data and evaluate information objectively to be able to report on key HR Operational metrics.
Strong understanding of developing and embedding HR policies and procedures, understanding the importance of smooth HR processes to improve employee experience.
Ability to effectively problem solve, with demonstrated success in identifying and delivering new ways of working.
Strong written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to create, build and maintain relationships with internal key stakeholders.
