**Location**:United Kingdom, Remote
**Job Summary**:
aPriori is looking for an Associate Cost Modeler to develop and support mechanistic process models for a constantly growing list of manufacturing processes that are integrated into aPriori’s software solutions.
**Responsibilities**:
- Research and develop knowledge in various manufacturing processes and distil manufacturing and sustainability insights.
- Use of the company’s process modeling platform to develop simulation models that will estimate part manufacture, tooling costs, and emissions.
- Research, design, and build models to simulate the manufacturing activities of various manufacturing processes.
- Review and enhance existing mechanistic models
**Required Skills/Abilities**:
- Understand manufacturing processes and be able to de-couple the ideas and concepts which drive the major components of cost and emissions.
- Understand how design factors and the manufacturing process impact the cycle time, material utilization, tooling, and other drivers for manufacturing processes.
- Ability to assemble large varieties of information about manufacturing processes (some of which may be new to the individual) together into a coherent mechanistic model.
- Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Programming or other experience in automating calculation/decision support or mathematical modeling experience (e.g. Spreadsheets, Statistical Analysis Packages, etc.)
- Proven critical thinker with self-motivation
- Be comfortable working with 3D CAD systems.
**Education and Experience**:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical, Automotive, Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering required.
