Job description

St Mark's Catholic School is seeking to appoint an organised and highly motivated Finance Officer to join their team.

The postholder will be responsible for managing the school’s finance systems and finance team. St. Mark’s has a reputation for outstanding student outcomes, but we are also committed to excellence in all that we do.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Headteacher, senior leaders of the school, and DoWAT central team. Experience within an educational setting is not essential, but applicants must be able to demonstrate their financial experience and skills.

The role is for 36 hours per week, but we will consider full time or term-time only. The postholder will be required to work onsite for most of the week but the possibility of some flexible working can be discussed at interview.
- Significant experience of working in a finance role
- Experience of day-to-day financial administration, reporting and budgeting.
- AAT level 3 financial qualification, equivalent accounting qualification or substantial relevant experience.
- The capacity and skills to manage a complex and wide-ranging remit.
- Knowledge of financial management regulations, procedures and practices, development and implementation of financial systems and procedures.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues and external organisations Excellent attention to detail.
- A creative and flexible approach to problem-solving.
