**Please note, this is a zero hour contract with no set days or hours. The role requires the applicant to be able to cover annual leave with some advance notice, as well as with little notice in the event of sickness should you be available.**

**Role Purpose**

To work with the Beaumond House team to maintain the standard of excellence to ensure that the philosophy and values of Beaumond House are met.

A major part of this role is the ability to produce home cooked foods using fresh ingredients, meeting patients’ dietary needs and changes to appetite.

**Main Duties**
- To follow a weekly cleaning schedule to clean equipment, work areas and maintain the standards of hygiene requirements.
- To maintain clean and tidy storerooms and to use equipment as trained.
- To adhere to COSHH, Food Safety, Allergens and HACCAP guidelines.
- To follow instructions as stated by the line manager.
- In all actions undertaken, have regard for the hospice’s reputation.
- To comply with safe use, storage, and destruction of documentation.
- To be self-aware of demands of role and seek out support if required.
- To communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, carers, staff, and the wider team to ensure confidentiality is maintained in all channels of communication.
- To comply with all Beaumond House Policies and Procedures.
- To undertake other duties as directed.

**General Duties**
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively with your Beaumond House colleagues
- Abide by the Health and Safety at Work Act
- Work within Beaumond House policies and procedures
- Participate in and contribute to team meetings, including new starter induction.
- Always behave in a professional manner, reflecting and maintaining Beaumond House values

**Skills, Experience and Attributes Required**
- Ability to cook homemade meals, including baking cakes and biscuits.
- Knowledge of dietary needs.
- Basic knowledge of Food Safety.
- Ability to complete paperwork.
- Ability to prioritise your workload.
- Flexibility, excellent listening skills and an ability to build a rapport with others and a friendly and sensitive approach.
- Basic IT skills.
- Ability to support colleagues and build good working relationships at all levels
- Ability to work unsupervised and work to own initiative
