Patient Safety Administrator - Band 3

Hours/working pattern - 30 to 37.5 hrs per week (negotiable)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and dynamic individual to join our Patient Safety team as a Patient Safety Administrator.
- have good concentration skills and attention to detail to ensure robust processes are followed.
- be able to prioritise their workload to meet conflicting deadlines.
- be able to extract, collate and maintain data to support patient safety team processes.
- be able to produce information in a clear, dynamic and relevant format to inform services and Trust Board of important and significant issues.
- have excellent communications skills to liaise with colleagues across the Trust, external organisations, and stakeholders.
- need excellent IT skills.

To provide an effective and dynamic administrative support function to the Patient Safety Team.

To provide an effective administrative function to the serious incident review process.

To extract, collate, and maintain data and information to support quality and safety processes. This includes information regarding patient safety.

Provide and present information in a clear, dynamic and relevant format for reports which inform services and Trust Board of important and significant issues relating to patient safety.

Liaise with relevant services within the Trust regarding patient safety, patient experience and clinical effectiveness.

The post holder will be expected to act on their own initiative and provide cross cover/support for other administration roles within the team as necessary to facilitate effective service function.

To provide an efficient administration function to the serious incident process which will require the quality checking of reports, some containing distressing information.

To develop and produce accurate high quality data presentations and reports using computer software, in a format which is clear and relevant to the report required.

To produce accurate high-quality communications and correspondence, often of a distressing and emotional nature, letters and other documents, many of which are none routine as required using audio/copying typing and word processing systems as required.

Act on requests made by senior members of staff at all levels, being able to identify and prioritise complex issues in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines are met.

Provide information which is relevant and accurate which contributes to effective management of patient safety.

Develop and maintain relevant data bases which organise data from the risk reporting system to produce monthly and quarterly reports regarding patient safety and learning from deaths.

Prepare draft documents and prepare response reports for approval and signature under minimum supervision on behalf of the Associate Director of Quality Improvement and the Head of Patient Safety & Learning.

Develop and maintain own workload, prioritising tasks under mínimal supervision.

Receipt, collation, and provision of relevant information in response to complex information sharing requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and GDPR.

Deal with queries raised by healthcare professionals internally and externally to the Trust. These are often of a non-routine nature and involve complex issues such as serious incidents and other risks.

Maintenance and amendment of Trust policy documents under instruction of the Head of Patient Safety & Learning.

Liaise with Informatics Department regarding the use, development, and management of the ris
