The role of Business Development Manager is a flexible based role responsible for the management, relationship development and sales growth of either:

- An account set across all products
- A specific brand across a set of accounts
- A specific product range across a set of accounts

This is achieved through the exposure of Exertis products, services and value proposition to identified accounts, in conjunction with the internal sales account managers.

This is a 12 month role.

**Key Responsibilities**

Depending on the specific role the key responsibilities will include some or all of the following;
- Identifying new business opportunities within defined customer segment and not restricted to finding new opportunities
- Developing and cultivating professional business relationships with decision makers in all accounts and Exertis affiliates, and ensuring on going customer satisfaction.
- Introducing new manufacturers, products and technologies to our customers, develop and present proposals, handling any customer issues and objections.
- Managing the complete sales cycle from initial meetings through to purchase order acceptance.
- Supporting the GM and Sales team, and provide feedback on customer activity and comments.
- Acting as an escalation point within Exertis for any associated issues.
- Developing bespoke promotional events within accounts, and offer assistance for exhibitions (both Exertis & Reseller events).
- Building relationships with Sonos and key customers forming a supportive partnership between Exertis, customer and vendor.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders (Finance, Operations, Customer Services, Supply Chain, Sales management and Category management within Retail, Etail and Indy) to ensure business is achieved with one common goal and within the customers boundaries.
- Forecasting product information to commercial and purchasing to ensure continuity of supply.
- Prepare budgets and plans as required.
- Conducting regular business reviews with relevant customers, vendors, business units and sales management, to track performance, discuss any issues, develop strategic plans and take appropriate action where required.
- Provide weekly progress reports on account activities, and present at monthly Commercial Meetings where required.
- Presenting formal and informal presentations to small and large groups easily adapting content and style to suit the audience. Maintaining group focus with fresh information, appealing narrative and articulate responses to unrehearsed comments and questions.
- Using the internal systems to track and report on performance. Demonstrating the ability to interpret and communicate data clearly to meet the needs of the audience.
- Become and maintain a go to market expert for Exertis in specific or associated categories and developing long term plans for Exertis.
- Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Group Code of Conduct.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Ability to deliver against turnover and or margin targets
- Communication Skills (including listening skills and ability to relate to a wide range of people)
- Presentation Skills (PowerPoint, hold an audience)
- IT Literacy (and an ability to adopt to new systems in an IT enabled organisation)
- Ability to plan and prioritise work
- Ability to exercise judgement/make decisions
- Knowledge of relevant market sector
- Knowledge of relevant product portfolio
- Knowledge of customers within focused market sectors
- Knowledge of customer contacts within account base
- Knowledge of the competition
Ability to interface at senior levels within the customer environment to maximise opportunities
- Ability to develop long term business relationships leading to sustained profitable business
- End user sales experience and solution selling would be ideal but not essential
- Keen and quick ability to learn
