**Aspris Talocher School are recruiting for a full time Senior Administrator to join our dedicated and talented education administration team.**
Talocher School is a specialist school for girls and boys aged 7 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health needs some also have an ASC diagnosis. We currently have registration for 60 students. The school provides a warm, welcoming and flexible environment for young people who are unable to attend mainstream education because of their additional learning needs.
**The role**:
As Senior Administrator your role will be to ensure that the administration operations within the school always runs smoothly. The role includes line management of the current administration team and catering team.
You and your team will manage the business administration functions of the school, including payroll, finance, HR, H&S, transport and fleet co-ordination and more, with support from the Head teacher and Regional Business Manager.
This is a fast-paced and demanding role, but also a role where you can flourish in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it most.
**Main duties**:
- Line manage the administration team and catering team to ensure administrative tasks and services are provided to a high standard and by agreed deadlines.
- Supervise, coach and support new or less experienced administration staff regarding administrative duties and procedures.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of specific administrative processes / systems, for example effective record keeping and filing systems.
- Liaise and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including site-based staff and wider central services functions (Finance, HR, Recruitment).
- Take a lead role in the recruitment of new employees by providing administrative support to managers, undertaking a range of pre-employment checks, and ensuring recruitment is legal, safe and meets regulatory standards.
- Ensures the accuracy, confidentiality and security of personal files and employment records in accordance with Group policy, best practice and current legislation.
- Oversee financial and accounting administration such as dealing with invoices, processing of cash (petty cash), checking transactions and undertaking reconciliation in line with our financial procedures.
- Processing local payroll, ensuring systems are updated in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work alongside and support the Regional Business Manager with the day-to-day administration queries.
**We are looking for someone who**:
- Has experience of leading administration teams and is confident taking a lead role in regard to specific processes / pieces of work with appropriate support if required.
- At all times will work collaboratively with relevant colleagues to fulfil the requirements of the role and contribute positively to the effective running of the administration function within the school.
- Has proven experience in multitasking and who is highly skilled and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel & Word.
- Has excellent time management and prioritisation skills in order to manage a varied and busy workload to meet deadlines.
- Have a proven track record of line management working with children and young people.
- Have experience of overseeing payroll and other human resource / employee relations functions.
- Demonstrate flexibility and resilience to respond to the changing needs of those who we support.
- Have a strong “can do” attitude.
- Is familiar with H&S practices and processes.
