Having already invested millions in the departure lounge and baggage system, this year they also secured approval for the next phase of growth, with permission granted to increase the airport’s capacityfrom 35 to 43 million passengers per year.

The Role:
They are looking to develop a world class asset management approach at our client and in this role, you will be responsible for developing the short, medium and long-term asset plan for Stansted Airport, leading and developing investment plans that standardiseassets across them, embracing new technology and supporting the airports requirement for growth. You will significantly influence the outcomes of the business plan (revenue generated from retail / car parking schemes, operating efficiency through improvementsto the asset base, capacity growth) through development of sound asset strategies and good investment planning. Other accountabilities will include:

- To identify different long-term scenarios and determine an investment plan that best fits the most likely long-term outcomes
- To work with the Asset Maintenance Policy & Strategy team on the condition and long term predicted performance of the asset base.
- To translate the asset development strategy and information on the existing asset base into an optimised long term Asset Plan (LTAP) that describes a detailed capex investment plan for a rolling 0-5 year time horizon, major investment schemes 5-10 yearhorizon, and development strategy 10-25 year horizon - developing the asset base to meet key regulatory requirements and maximise the return on investment/ minimise the whole life costs of operating the asset base.
- To provide leadership in the development of asset strategies and renewal plans that balance asset health (covering asset condition, performance, and compliance against statutory and regulatory compliance), whole life cost (opex and capex) and risk. To setrisk appetite and asset health / cost targets for the asset base in consultation with the Operational directorate.
- To act as the project sponsor for capital projects arising from the LTAP, ensuring that there is a plan to realise benefits from the investment, and a post investment appraisal is carried out to feed lessons learned back into the asset management and capitaldelivery process.

You:
To be successful in this role you will have a broad ranging knowledge of asset management practices and techniques with extensive experience in developing asset management capabilities across large, diverse infrastructure. You will also need to demonstratea high degree of commercial insight, rationalising a wide range of drivers to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency and take a risk balanced view to investment decisions. You will have a fantastic ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholdersat all levels and confidence presenting to executive and board level, consolidating diverse information into a coherent strategy and implementation plan.
