Veterans Practitioner

As part of the development of the Op Courage Service for Armed Forces Veterans across the East of England, we are seeking a Band 5 Veterans Practitioner to support the other clinicians within the service, in providing mental health care to veterans who have served in the armed forces.

The successful applicant could be a registered healthcare professional, or someone with equivalent experience and skill. the key attribute is an understanding of the mental health and psycho-social challenges faced by armed forces veterans, and of the organisations and interventions that can assist them.

Liaison with external agencies who are also interested in providing services to veterans.

Promoting the service to veterans to encourage their engagement. To credibly challenge any mental health stigma occurring within the client group.

To accumulate the expertise to advise and signpost to other veterans agencies as required.

To act as Lead Care Professional for a caseload of veterans, many of whom may be engaging with multiple pathways across our service.
