**The role**

As a Rail Team Leader, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will lead and direct on-site manpower carrying out track renewals works as directed by the upervisor. You will also ensure all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with relevant Group and Line standards.

Day to day, you will be responsible for the safety, welfare and control of staff. You will also need to arrange the materials and equipment to complete the necessary work.

1. Responsible for the safety, welfare and control of staff as directed by the supervisor.
2. Arrange for materials and equipment to complete the allocated work.
3. Implement safe systems of work.
4. Liaising on-site with on-track machine and ballast train staff.
5. Ensure all staff have appropriate valid certificates of competency.
6. Responsible for carrying out assessment of work progress with that planned, agreeing remedial action with supervisor as necessary.

**Essential experience of the Rail Team Leader,**
- Extensive track experience
- Able to drive or willing to learn - Full UK driving license- NIR PTS. (Northern Ireland Railways Personal Track Safety)
- TSC desirable.
- Thorough knowledge of H&S rules and regulations of railway workings essential
