**Car Rental Agent**

Location: Swindon (Stratton St Margaret).

Duncan Self Drive are recruiting for a car & van rental agent operating out of our Swindon branch. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is able to deliver fantastic customer service to our customers who are looking to rent commercial vehicles. You will be responsible for booking out rentals, negotiating fees, checking in/out vehicles and building our well-established client base.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Converting client enquiries into rental sales - finding the right vehicle and the right deal for the customer using our bespoke in-house booking system.
- Generating leads, cold calling and booking rental appointments.
- Competitor awareness, price comparisons and awareness of local promotions through online media searching.
- Checking vehicles in and out (when required), identifying new damage and where necessary raising damage issues with rental customer.
- Cleaning / Sanitising and preparing vehicles ready for rental.
- Meeting and greeting our customers.
- Processing payments and ID checks correctly, including pre-authorisation/card details/ credit checks etc.
- Monitor daily desktop reports, vehicle availability, utilisation, vehicles overdue, expiring insurance policies of corporate customers, expiring credit card authorisations, excess mileage etc.
- Ensuring all damage/defects are reported and (where appropriate) invoiced in a timely manner.
- General office administration and organisation.

Desirable qualities:

- IT literate and able to use Microsoft Office package.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Outlook mail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Customer focus: putting our clients first every time, with a “yes we can” attitude.
- Supportive of colleagues and able to integrate seamlessly.
- Possess the desire to grow a strong customer base that keeps customers coming back to Duncan’s as their chosen business of choice.
- Product/industry knowledge would also be an advantage (but is not essential as can be learnt on the job)
- Full UK driving licence.

Working Hours:
Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm

Sat 8am - 11am

Sun - closed

If successful it is a requirement to work one weekend in every 3.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£26,389.00 per year
