The post holder will already have BSE or equivalent accreditation as well as significant experience in TTE and will contribute to all areas of the echocardiography programme.

The successful applicant will have a strong track record in education and training which are priorities for the department as we expand the service, including the mentorship of SpR’s and fellows. This post provides a great opportunity to join a welcoming and supportive team at a time when we are developing and expanding our echo service at Finchley Memorial Hospital - CDC.

**The post holder will be expected to**:
Demonstrate expertise in echocardiography ensuring that the service model provides demonstrably high-quality patient care within financial and clinical

Demonstrate working knowledge of the full range of investigations.

Demonstrate leadership qualities, provide support to junior team members and carry out organizational and supervisory duties.

Take a lead role in the maintenance of standards and quality in service development of CIU team including active involvement in the training of related staff, whist maintaining and developing their own professionalism and expert skills and knowledge.

Participate in developing shift rotas, including weekend

Demonstrate a professional approach to patient care and be able to communicate with patients

Effectively communicate within the Community Diagnostic Centre’s and other departments, throughout the Trust.

The CDC is open 7 days a week opening 8am - 8pm and therefore this post is part of a shift pattern with weekend work included. Flexible working is a must.

Work in our busy Cardiology department alongside the existing team to perform & report transthoracic echocardiograms independently to standards outlined by the (inter)national

Demonstrate expertise in the performance of a range of specialist investigations carried out the CIU and cardiac catheter labs.

Interpret technical information & data from investigations and prepare

Recognize the significance of investigation findings/diagnoses and act on these

Be trained and accredited under the auspices of the Resuscitation Council (UK) and to partake in providing basic life support and defibrillation as and when

Demonstrate a professional approach to patient care and be able to communicate with patients

Effectively communicate within the department and other departments throughout the Trust
