The Senior Research Facilitator role is a highly operational role which forms a key part of the Integrated Care Delivery Team in the Clinical Research Network West Midlands (CRN WM). We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and proactive individual who is willing to travel and use their expertise and excellent communication and influencing skills to engage Researchers, Partner Organisations such as, Universities, Schools, Prisons, Local Authoritis, Communiy Groups in research. The postholder will be expected to:
Manage of a small team of research facilitators, to instigate and maintain their engagement with the NIHR CRN initiatives and support recruitment to and the delivery of studies within NIHR Clinical Research Network West Midlands.

Work as part of a West Midlands team to identify and contact partner organisations to promote research, with the aim to increase the number of organisations offering participation in research.

Increase opportunities for organisations to participate in research, coordinating the feasibility and set up of new studies, as well as assisting in performance management of those studies. The post holder will be allocated responsibility for the set up and delivery of studies under the role of ‘Study Lead’ for specific studies.

To line manage the ICDT team members, ensuring high quality standards are maintained and national targets are achieved;Support the Assistant Research Delivery Managers with the overall management of NIHR CRN portfolio studies by developing project plans to manage the delivery of complex, large-scale research projects including regular review/ reporting of project progress, identifying any potential delays to studies being delivered on time and to target and developing alternative plans to mitigate the delays or minimise their impact;To undertake and deliver the responsibilities of the ‘Study Lead’ role for a study where this is allocated to the post holder;To oversee the work of the ICDT team structure, maintaining oversight of studies and engagement with Partner Organisations;Effectively liaise with the study support and early contact teams in order to facilitate the study and implement an effective and successful recruitment strategy;Establish effective working relationship with external stakeholders by acting as the main point of communications;Develop practical recruitment strategies, for example, format of site visits and production of promotional materials will be the responsibility of the post-holder;Identify barriers to participation in trials and develop strategies to overcome these barriers and increase research participation;Maintain a working knowledge of current legislation and regulatory frameworks applicable to health research.

The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) West Midlands is hosted by The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. The Host is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of research in the Trusts, primary care organisations and other health and social care organisationswithin the West Midlands area. The NIHR CRN is the clinical research delivery arm of the department of Health and Social Care and operates nationally across England through a national coordinating centre and 15 local networks delivering research across all disease areas. The NIHR CRN West Midlands helps to increase the opportunities for patients to take part in clinical research, ensures that studies are carried out within the legal and ethical standards expected and supports the Government’s Strategy for embedding clinical research in health and social care. Please note this post involves travel across the West Midlands.

The Senior Research Facilitator role is a highly operational role which forms a key part of the Integrated Care Delivery Team (ICDT) in the Clinical Research Network West Midlands (CRN WM). This is a role for experienced research facilitators within the CRN West Midlands. The post holder will be responsible for line management of the team of research facilitators, supervising and co-ordinating their work to ensure that recruitment to studies is on time and to target, in line with the locality plans, HLO’s and to a high quality standard and will act as a source of advice and guidance regarding the Network and its work streams. The post holder will be allocated responsibility for the set up and delivery of studies under the role of ‘Study Lead’ for specific studies. They may, on occasion be required to work as part of the locality sub team structure, managing individual studies.Taking a lead in allocated key areas and specific projects such as Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement, Continuous Improvement, Clinical Practice Research Datalink, Standard Operating Procedures will be a requirement, therefore experience in these areas is desirable.
