About Us

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of emergency, urgent care and non-emergency healthcare services, along with commercial logistics services.

The Trust delivers most of these services to the populations of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire as well as non-emergency patient transport services in Surrey and Sussex.

We serve a population of over 7 million and answer over 500,000 urgent calls a year. We employ 4,551 staff who, together with over 1,100 volunteers, enable us to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- To provide strong support to members of the department whilst on duty,

providing comprehensive clerical and secretarial support.
- To organise courses, teaching sessions, appraisals, and exams in conjunction with the Education Centres Manager, ensuring that the educational

arrangements do not materially affect operational capability, when appropriate using own judgement to plan and arrange the cluster Centre timetable for room bookings etc.
- To ensure that the electronic training records (OLM) of ALL staff in the cluster are maintained effectively, comprehensively and accurately, ensuring that attendance of all courses and other relevant educational offerings are entered onto the electronic learning system and to undertake reporting and retrieval procedures on a regular and ad hoc basis as required by Education Managers and providing analysis of report findings as appropriate.
- To liaise with stakeholders on behalf of the members of the team in relation to educational provision, e.g. HCPC, Future Quals, Universities etc.
- To arrange room bookings, technical assistance when appropriate, catering

when appropriate, and provide support to external facilitators and examiners when appropriate.
- To attend relevant course or department meetings as a participant and/or to provide administrative support, including minutes, as appropriate.
- To support all Education Centre Managers and Driving Education Managers, Education Development and Assurance Manager and the Professional and Personal Development Manager in the development and delivery of new or extended courses.
- To assist the Education Management team to provide accurate costing for

new and/or existing courses and to maintain accurate records of departmental expenditure, in line with budgetary requirements, providing analysis of expenditure as required.
- To participate in and to assist with the preparation for external validation visits e.g. Monitor, CQC HCPC, Future Quals, etc.
- To promote service improvement through the attention to detail and the timely delivery of work streams, using judgement to support the delivery of education in the Education Centres and that provided by Education Managers away from the centres ensuring that all relevant information is communicated accurately and timely, maintaining the integrity of the information or materials

used.
- To provide administrative support to the department as required, providing comprehensive clerical and secretarial support, including the collation and

delivery of timesheets, sickness reporting forms, ESR reporting forms,
occupational health reporting, leave recording, GRS, health, safety and risk
recording, invoice coding and inputting, and other administrative reporting, collating or recording procedures required in the department.
- To ensure that all technical equipment is available for use when required
- ensuring service contracts are adhered to, maintenance undertaken etc and stocks of stationery and consumables are maintained.
- To attend relevant course or department meetings as a participant and/or to provide administrative support, including minutes, as appropriate.
- To act as mentor to less experienced staff
