**Purpose of the Role**:
The Payroll and Purchase Ledger Clerk will be supporting Head of Finance by overseeing the Accounts Payable function and completing the monthly Payroll function. Assisting the lead up to the close of business results as per the Finance Timetable and the agreed reporting periods. Holiday cover for supporting in the Insurer Reconciliation process and IBA Cashbook Reconciliations.

**Job Description/Responsibilities**:

- Overseeing and completing the Accounts payable process and supporting the Month end.
- Saving down the relevant Expense in the system/Folders
- Paying weekly Bacs Runs from the main office account and adhoc payments
- Online Banking and downloading statements
- Reconciliations of Office Banks and cashbooks and postings into the General Ledger in time for Month end reporting

6. Processing Payroll and scheduling reviews in accordance with the timetables

7. Paying HMRC

8. Reconciling and paying Pensions
- Help with process notes and setting up key spreadsheets
- Any Adhoc projects or assisting the F.C with Month end close
- Ensuring that the work is completed to agreed Service Levels (SLAs) and quality standards and Audit requirements

12. Communicate and build relationships with all departments and senior Management

13. Fulfil your responsibilities in line with agreed processes to achieve agreed objectives.

14. Holiday cover for Insurer Reconciliations

**Business Expertise**:

- Effective written and oral communication skills required to effectively work with senior members of the business
- Ability to build strong relationships needed for liaising with Internal and External teams

- Help with continuous improvement of processes, driving simplification, standardisation, quality improvement and cost minimization

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- **Education - **GCSE’s /A-Levels or equivalent
- **Microsoft Excel skills** - Medium skill set
- **Professional Certification - **None Requiredbut AAT would be beneficial
- **Experience - **Experience in payroll and Purchase ledger essential
- **Systems - **Sage 200 and Payroll Xero - All training and support will be given
