Harlow, United Kingdom The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust Full time

The Histopathology team is seeking to appoint a Specialty Registrar at ST2 grade on a full-time, fixed-term basis (1 year).

You will support the provision of Diagnostic Histopathology (Dissection and reporting of Histological Specimens), in addition to supporting MDTs. There is time and resource allocation for training including study leave to fulfil your educational needs. A named Educational Supervisor will identify your educational needs at the first appraisal within one week of the appointment.

Your role is to provide the Trust’s diagnostic histopathology and cytopathology service, in conjunction with nine consultants and junior Drs from the East of England Multi-professional Deanery.

**To be eligible for this post you must have the following**:

- MBBS degree
- English Language IELTS Examination.
- Surgical dissection experience.

UK experience in a Diagnostic Histopathology department would be advantageous but is not essential.

Dissection and reporting of diagnostic histological specimens under the supervision of Consultant Pathologists forms the core of your main duties.

The Cellular Pathology Department is fully UKAS accredited to ISO 15189:2012 and runs a routine Diagnostic Histopathology service.

The Department has successfully supported the development of Trainee Histopathologists from within and without the EoE Deanery, and has a proven track record of successes in trainees clearing the FRCPath examination. The Department runs a biannual FRCPath Course in Harlow.

This is an exciting time for PAHT. Over the next five years we are on a digital transformation journey, leading us to our brand new hospital. You’ll be part of the team supporting our organisation in a diverse and challenging role; a role which can make a significant difference to our patients, staff and the future direction of our services.

Our people demonstrate energy and commitment towards improving the care and experiences provided to our patients and the drive to be an ‘outstanding’ organisation.

It’s never been a better time to join us.
