Facilities Supervisor requirements

Strong facilities experience gained from engineering or manufacturing environment

NEBOSH

Knowledge of SAP (or comparable ERP / MRP system)

Facilities Supervisor responsibilities:
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the Facilities Manager will plan and co-ordinate specific site maintenance contracts and any remedial actions arising from the undertaking of the work, which will include the maintenance of the infrastructure of the site using SAP to request and justify any additional maintenance request. Undertake workloads which are planned, co-ordinated and allocated to a schedule of work in conjunction with the Engineering Planning team, co-ordinating and liaising with Insurance Inspection Engineering surveyors in the completion of their duties for site wide compliance and certification.
- Respond to breakdowns that have an immediate effect of plant safety, environmental release and plant performance quickly and efficiently towards a resolution. Continuously aim to achieve the highest possible standards of maintenance to minimise downtime within the constraints of budgetary costs as processed through the purchasing route structure. The nature of this role will require accurate and detailed report keeping as Insurance, internal and external auditors and other interested parties will need access to copies of records Facilities Manager Responibilities:

- Responsible for statutory requirements for fire safety and loss prevention. This will require involvement in fire pump performance testing, sprinkler weekly bell testing, zoned fire alarm system service contract, extinguisher gas systems, and monthly risk assessment area checks and to be the responsible person for fire safety advisory and competence on site
- In conjunction with the Engineering Manager and Purchasing be involved with negotiating the technical content of the site service contracts. Using SAP - to coordinate service contract WO’s and POs for the following and to carry out any remedial actions as necessary: - Crane and Hoist and Hood door servicing, including maintaining records.
Air conditioning unit servicing, including maintaining the F gas register.
Sprinkler and fire pump testing
Compressors, air dryers and desiccant dryer systems.
Fixed extinguisher system.
Fire detection equipment and fire alarm systems.
Fire doors and roller shutter doors
Air purification systems for electrical and control rooms. Purafil
Weighbridge and weighing systems service contracts
Workshop degreasing equipment servicing.
Site pest control contracts
Any site landscape gardening/weeding requirements
Site gritting and snow clearing
Static Gas monitors on CHP
Small civils works including building and flooring repairs and warehouse floor checks
Chimney inspections, in line with best practice guidance.
Site UPS backup systems
Fixed electrical wiring inspection programme.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) programme.- Good document and report filing is essential as many of the above systems are regularly audited for compliance.
- Manage the backlog of work generated from Audits, Interlex’s and near misses that require a civils repair or fall under those service contract providers above.
- Using SAP to carry out regular inspections to the site’s infrastructure including buildings, roads & walkways, raising requisitions or requests for revenue as necessary and coordinating any repairs to concrete, tarmac, steel work, brickwork, roofing, windows, amenities etc. Utilising contract or site labour as appropriate for the most cost effective and reliable repair.
- Be available to provide support on planned shutdowns, supervising and carrying out key tasks as necessary, such as transformer maintenance, etc.
- If of an Electrical Discipline, to be able to support HV work, any necessary electrical shut works, Isolations, permits and contractor control.
- To support Engineering Works identified by the utilities team through the creating of WO’s, planned resources to rectify and clarify and direct any necessary work of contractors and Smurfit Kappa technicians within this area. Including the water treatment plants for CHP
- Annual Tank inspections and the documentation of reports and any necessary rectification works
- Ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest engineering standard to minimise the risk to loss of product quality and unnecessary production losses.
