We are seeking a Planning Engineer, or Programme Planner to help us with our continued evolution of works in the Western region. We have an expanding portfolio of projects following our successful CP7 contract award in the Wales & Western region. We would like someone to be a part of this successful journey.

**You'll be working on. (what your role and responsibility is)**
- Develop, produce and update programmes for multiple projects across a range of disciplines.
- Work with the Head of Planning to publish regular updates of the entire framework.
- Follow the principles adopted within the framework for producing programmes whilst suggesting ways they could be improved.
- Work with the estimators and delivery team to produce programmes that are commercially attractive to the client.
- Help the team to identify and evaluate the risks within the project, not only with regards to planning, but the project as a whole.
- Ensure that legislative, Octavius' and customers' mandatory policies and procedures are delivered appropriately within the governance framework.
- Work within a small team to deliver a significant amount of planning output will require the ability to form good working relationships, a flexible attitude and a willingness to adapt to change.
- Develop relationships with other teams to ensure that we share resources, innovation, and process to deliver efficiently as one.
- Identify better and/or more efficient ways of achieving the current outcomes.
- Put safety, health and wellbeing at the heart of decision making.
- Put the Environment and Sustainability at the heart of decision making.
- Actively participate in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) events.

Our pre-delivery managers, customers, stakeholders, our main design partner, other designers, supplier partners, and our delivery teams to plan a package of works and create solutions that delight our customers.

**About you. (what you are skilled at)**
- Engineering knowledge with relevant experience in suitable disciplines (such as Structures, Buildings, M&E, Geotechnical or rail disciplines like permanent way, signalling, telecoms and E&P).
- The ability to plan from first principles.
- Working knowledge of planning software (such as MS-Project, Asta Powerproject or P6 Primavera).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good level of NEC3 knowledge, and knowledge of how it should be applied to the contract programme.
- Understanding of construction design.

**You'll bring(your wealth of experience & qualifications)**
- A related degree, diploma, or vocational qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in Construction or Civil Engineering.
- Aspirations to achieve Professional membership with a recognised and relevant Professional body (i.e. Institution of Civil Engineers).
- Completion of courses relevant to a career in planning.
- Personal Track Safety and Industry Common Induction (desirable).
