**About the role**:
**This role is well suited to an experienced Junior Buyer looking to develop within a department store retailer across a wide product area **(Please note, this is not a senior buyer role).**

You will be a highly experienced Buyer who uses their expert knowledge to plan and buy the best range for customers within your category. Your remit will be to deliver agreed KPIs including; sales, profit, stock, margin and achieving required customer metrics and hit rates.

The category area within your remit is Wall Decor which covers: Mirrors, Frames, Clocks which is part of the wider Furnishing Accessories Category Office

This role will cover a wide product and SKU range across a global FOB, Landed delivered and D2C supply base. It is largely an own brand role requiring product development and sourcing expertise. You will be required to work in an independent way alongside your Merchandiser to build commercial and differentiate product ranges that set John Lewis apart from its competition alongside delivering the Creative Vision.

You will seek out consolidation and process efficiencies, managing your supplier and sourcing office relationships skilfully to ensure commercial and collaborative decision making.

Working alongside your merchandiser, you will analyse the category market, channel performance, sales, profit and stock data, to develop and bring to market profitable and commercial own brand and branded ranges. This will involve working closely with relevant specialist internal functions across stores, online, and operations.

You will maximise opportunities as they arise and lead the in-season trading to potentialise the outcome for both customers and your category responsibilities.

You‌ ‌will‌ ‌take‌ ‌an‌ ‌active‌ ‌role‌ ‌in‌ ‌supporting‌ ‌the‌ ‌Category‌ ‌Lead‌ with task management for your direct remit, and through coaching‌ and mentoring for wider‌ team‌ ‌challenges‌. ‌

Working with your Merchandiser you will be accountable for the commercial success of a product range as defined and agreed with your Category Lead. This will include financial strategy, range development & planning, sourcing strategy, contract management and channel strategy underpinned by agile in-season trading.

You will be accountable for working collaboratively with your designer to create commercial & inspiring ranges, that reflect consumer trends, JLP brand positioning, price structure, and margins. These will be in line with category and customer strategy.
