Job summary

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and hard-working Head of Finance to join our rapidly growing organisation. We are looking for someone with previous experience in a start up financial role analysing and improving business efficiency. This is a role for a confident, flexible, and talented individual who is looking to developing and growing themselves, as well as growing our business.

Essential Skills
- Strong financial acumen including familiarity with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent grasp of business finance fundamentals.
- Detail and experience in cashflow forecast and management.
- Strong resourcefulness and ability to find or develop compelling data given limited resources and time.
- Strong experience and comfort working with large and complex sets of pricing information and data.
- Previous experience in a financial role within a startup, or has a strong understanding with business finance.
- Tech-savvy.
- Competency in IT and Excel skills.
- Very high level of attention to detail.
- Ambitious to lead the company forward and advance their career.
- A positive attitude and high energy and eager for an opportunity to shine.
- Adaptable to change.
- High level of communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and delivering to deadlines.
- Able to prioritise and organise own workload.
- Driven and proactive with the ability to use own initiative.

Key job responsibilities
- Analysis of costs incurred by shipping and transportation costs, identifying trends and insights and taking steps to drive efficiencies in this area.
- Ensure month-end invoices are accurate, monitored and reported accurately.
- Researching finance and grant opportunities for the business.
- Identify and support cost-out initiatives to continue to improve business efficiency.
- Provide analyses and evaluations for cost efficiency for the business.
- Cashflow management.
- Budgeting sn forecasts.
- Monitoring creditor/debtor days.
- Managing account receivable ensuring customers pay on time.
- Managing payments.
- Managing and processing supplier invoices as well as invoicing customers. These invoices need to be checked that the correct charges are applied both from suppliers and to customers.
- Month End accounts and preparation of Management accounts.
- Tax Returns and filing.
- Year end accounts and submitting to Companies House.
- Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations.
- Recommend cost-reducing solutions

**Experience**:

- Proven work experience as a Head of Finance, Director of Finance or similar role
- In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping
- Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Solid analytical and decision-making skills
- Leadership abilities
- Quickbooks experience preferred

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £40,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
