**Job Description**:
Our client require a Pension Adviser, on an interim basis for up to 6 months.
This role is office based 3 days per week with hybrid working the rest of the time.

**The role is renumerated at £15.76 per hour based on a 35 hour working week.**

The Pensions team deals with day-to-day pensions matters with staff being either members of the Local Government Pension Scheme; Teachers Pension Scheme or the Universities Superannuation Scheme. This includes dealing with all financial returns and reconciliations as required by the various pension authorities as well as providing information to staff on the interpretation of scheme rules and how this might affect individual staff depending upon their personal circumstances.
The remit of the team is to provide a professional and comprehensive service to employees of the University on all Pension matters; to provide advice to senior management as required; to ensure adherence to financial regulations and integrity of associated financial data and to ensure compliance with appropriate legislation.
This role provides crucial support to the organisation being able to deliver an important and valuable part of the University's overall benefits package to attract high calibre staff across all grade categories. With state pension ages increasing, pensions and the benefits from different schemes, has a heightened importance both from an employer and an employee perspective when making decisions about job opportunities/recruitment and future retirement plans. This is classified as a specialist role in Finance due to the level of technical knowledge and specialism in pensions required in order to perform the tasks this role is required to undertake.

**Main outline**:

- As Pension Adviser, you will work with the Assistant Pension Manager to provide comprehensive, professional advice and support on a broad range of pension matters, with guidance from more senior Pensions colleagues as required. University staff are members of one of three pension schemes: the Local Government Pension Scheme; the Teachers' Pension Scheme or the Universities Superannuation Scheme.
