**UK, Ireland and South Africa Accounting Director**
**Reports to: UK CFO and EMEA Director of Accounting & Transformation**

This is a key senior role overseeing the General Accounting and Financial Reporting function for the UK & Ireland and South Africa Businesses.
This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies, UK, Ireland, South Africa and US GAAP.
**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of 5 UK ,1 Irish & 1 South Africa legal entities, ensuring these are maintained in compliance with resp UK, Irish & IFRS GAAP, company policies and US GAAP (for consolidation purposes). Scope able to evolve as UK ADP business grow in size and/or geographically
- Oversees the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, balance sheet management and maintaining a strong SOX compliant control environment.
- Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
- Manages and coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Proactively being responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings
- Lead for technical accounting under local and US GAAP, providing expertise and guidance to the UK business.
- To embed a culture of continuous improvement in order to achieve efficient and effective processes in order to establish best practice in both systems and processes throughout the UK, Ireland & South Africa business. Also, working with the EMEA Director of Accounting & Transformation assisting in establishing standardization across the Organisation.
- Lead and develop the Financial Accounting team, managing directly and indirectly finance staff in multiple locations (5 associates in the UK, 1 in India, ).
- Working with internal and external tax advisors ensure the UK, Ireland & South Africa ADP businesses are fully tax compliant in all appropriate areas, in particular Corporate tax, VAT and transfer pricing. Ensure full involvement on any tax planning requirements.
- Simplify and mininise the UK Corporate Structure.
- Partner with the Head of FP&A and ensure a close working relationship is maintained with the FP&A team.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders particularly within the UK and EMEA Head Office.
**Skills & Experience Required**
- This is a senior management role which is critical to the UK, Ireland & South Africa business to ensure those businesses are seen as best in class by holding to a strong control environment, developing excellent technical talent and establishing best practice in all systems and processes.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in a US organisation.
- Ability to deliver under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to maintain clear lines of communication.
- Accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to identify areas to improve and drive forward efficiencies.
- Must be a self-starter
- Proven technical expertise is essential
**Education & Experience**
- Degree educated with strong academics
- Proven track record within the finance sector as a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with increasing responsibilities
- Experience with US GAAP reporting essential
- Experience managing people with strong, professional communication and written skills
- Excellent IT skills (including Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Experience of Oracle and Hyperion preferred
