Criminal Secretary

This is an excellent opportunity for a Criminal Law Legal Secretary to join a busy department based in their Portsmouth office.

**The Role & Responsibilities**:

- Liaising with clients and external professionals in a professional manner
- Providing comprehensive secretarial support to Criminal Law Solicitors
- Handling telephone calls and enquiries
- Diary management
- Document production and typing
- Organising meetings, appointments and court dates
- File opening and closing
- Maintaining high levels of confidentiality at all times
- General administrative duties including photocopying and filing

**Person Specification**:

- Works well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work on CJSM e mail would be desirable
- Excellent audio/digital dictation of correspondence witness statements and court and other legal documents
- Secretarial experience, non legal experience will be considered
- Possesses outstanding communication skills both verbal and written
- Have strong IT skills
- Demonstrate initiative and the drive to produce a high standard of service to our clients.
- Possess high levels of speed and accuracy
- Be highly organized, methodical and adaptable.

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£25,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Portsmouth: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
