**Warranty Engineer**

**Location - Redditch**

We are recruiting for a Warranty Engineer to join a specialist manufacturing business based in the Redditch area to support all warranty diagnostics and trend analysis for European manufactured product.

As Warranty Engineer you will be required to:

- Knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, VDA etc.)
- Proven track record in metrology relating to mechanical, optical and electronic technologies.
- Able to analyse, establish and solve problems and understand causes along electronic assemblies.
- Ensure the safe running condition of all QA test equipment and ensure everyone is abiding to safe working practices.
- Lead improvement activities based on use of data from warranty performance.
- Take an active role in warranty strategy - including customer negotiation on sample sizes.
- Develop test procedures and instructions to support the analysis process using both customer requirements and international standards.
- Ensure lessons learned from warranty analysis are shared and understood by relevant stakeholders.
- Responsible and accountable for day-to-day operations of the warranty analysis process.
- Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative and co-ordinate timely response to ensure internal and customer timings are met.
- Wiling to travel internationally to support customer testing and undertake necessary training as required.
- HNC or degree qualified within electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering.
- Competent in warranty analysis in accordance with customer requirements such as BMW: standard GS 95004 “Failure analysis - Part analysis of field complaints” and Mercedes: MBN 10448 “Field Failure Analysis” “VDA marketing and service field failure analysis.
- Strong practical abilities with set-up and operation equipment in the following fields:
- Electronics. (Oscilloscopes, PSUs DMMs etc)
- Acoustics. (Vibration equipment and sound analysis)
- Experience of working with automotive electronics ECUs, for example, familiar with Controlling ECU over CAN interface.
- Knowledge of VDA 8D problem solving.
- IATF/VDA internal auditor advantageous but not essential.
