Workshop Technician

Family run retailer of gardening and arboriculture equipment seeks an experienced, organised and proactive **Workshop Technician** to join their new store team at an exciting expansion phase of the organisation. The new store will consist of both home and professional gardening, arborist and forestry machinery, equipment, and tools, from a varied mixtureof premium brands. Alongside the store will be a workshop taking on repairs, servicing and warranty of machinery from all brands sold.
Duties of **Workshop Technician**:
? Undertake full servicing of following types of horticultural machinery: 2-stroke, 4-stroke, electrical, battery, ride on and robotic.
? To efficiently diagnose and undertake specific repairs on machinery types as above.
? Liaise with customers and update them on the status of repair or warranty.
? To learn and utilise each brand’s dealer web portal (for product schematics and referencing workshop manuals)
? Undertake warranty repairs and submit claims via dealer portals and liaising with manufacturer if necessary.
? Learning and using company systems (NetSuite) to process, prioritise and invoice repair jobs.
? To be aware and adhere to all health and safety aspects of working in workshop environment.
? Experienced Mechanic, particularly with small engine machines - Essential
? Full, clean, UK driving licence required for client visits in company van (ride on and robot mowers) - Essential
? Experience in the garden machinery industry - Desirable
? Experience using machinery schematic / exploded parts diagram lookup programs
? Appreciation of safe working practices in a workshop environment
? Ability to provide their own tools.
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:00 - 17:00
