Industrial Efficiency Planner

The successful applicant will work 40 hours per week, 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday.
Salary for this role will be £42,358 - £52,947 per annum depending upon skills, qualification and experience.
A vacancy has arisen within our Industrial Engineering Department; we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Industrial Efficiency Planner & SMO to join our team in Carlisle.
The role involves planning, analysing, and reporting on machine and manpower setup based on logístical requirements to improve efficiency and productivity. This includes analysing production flow, identifying improvement opportunities, optimising production planning and resource allocation, and enhancing overall factory efficiency.
The role collaborates with IE and Production teams to implement strategies for cost reduction and works on creating management plan documents and communicating them to stakeholders. The role manages the Smart Manufacturing pillar of IE and drives digital change in Industrial Engineering processes and utilising respective principles.
Additionally, the role provides factory information and support aligned with company strategy, ensuring adherence to SQDCP standards. Overall, the role is accountable for delivering lean improvements, cost reductions, and plant optimization plans through accurate data and effective communication, whilst embracing and delivering a digital transformation culture.
**Key responsibilities include**:
Analyse production processes and identify areas for improvement by using tools such as value stream mapping, process flow diagrams, and time studies supported by the MEE team.
Develop and implement strategies for improving production efficiency, this includes but not limited to, implementing Lean methodologies such as Kanban or Pull systems, or Six Sigma tools like DMAIC.
Create and maintain production plans and coordinate with other departments to ensure that resources are optimised and planned appropriately with respect to logístical plans, this will involve frequent communication with respective departments.
Forecasting appropriate resource levels and potential obstacles.
Monitor production performance and identify any issues or delays, this will involve the use of performance indicators such as OEE, TEEP, among others, to track performance and identify bottlenecks.
Conduct capacity analysis and identify capacity bottlenecks, determining the production capacity limits, and potential solutions to improve them.
Provide regular reports on performance and progress to the respective departments, this will involve the use of dashboard and data visualisation tools to provide clear and concise information to the management team.
Generating a significant number of relevant reports required both locally and HQ. The reports will be time constrained with associated deadlines.
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes using industrial engineering principles and identify opportunities for improvement through the implementation of smart manufacturing technologies.
Develop and maintain a smart manufacturing roadmap that outlines key initiatives, milestones, and resource requirements, incorporating industrial engineering methodologies.
