We have an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative service whilst undertaking training in Counselling for Depression as part of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) workforce expansion Programme. You will work within our High Intensity Counselling pathway, with adults aged 16+ experiencing a range of mental health issues including depression. Our team of IAPT High Intensity Counsellors deliver a variety of IAPT interventions, including face to face, telephone, and digital based work.

**The post holders will hold a recognised Counselling qualification with 2 years post-qualifying experience in Primary Care or similar services**, be enthusiastic, hardworking, and able to meet specified targets in order to deliver a high-quality Primary Care Mental Health Service. **You will need to meet the entry requirements for the training programme which can be foundhere**:
Full time and part time positions available (minimum 30 hours weekly). Successful applicants will be employed by one of organisations within the partnership, to be discussed at appointment.

**Main duties of the job**

**You must have Minimum two year post qualifying experience to providing brief counselling to clients with common mental health problems, particularly depression.**

An essential requirement to be eligible for this trainee role is you do not currently work in an IAPT service delivering IAPT interventions. There is an expectation that you will be offered a permanent qualified post within the IMPACT service on qualification.

You must have right to work in the UK as we are currently unable to offer working visa opportunities.

**Job responsibilities**

The Postholder will provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions within the framework of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) Programme as part of Impacts Primary Care Psychological Wellbeing Therapies (PWT) Service across the Tees area. They will contribute to patient assessment and treatment within the Core IAPT and Counselling & Wellbeing pathways of the service.

This position may require flexible hours between 8am until 8pm weekdays.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
**To work as a member of the Impact PWT Service Team**
- To create and maintain effective working relationships within the PWT Team and elsewhere.
- To offer advice and support to other members of the wider Primary Care Team, including GPs and other Health Professionals, on mental health issues, and in relation to appropriate referral pathways for patients with mental health needs.
- To liaise effectively with Secondary Care and voluntary sector organisations and services
- To attend meetings and provide reports as required.
- To assist in the development and promotion of the service
