We are looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant to join us on a permanent basis. This is a varied role which includes identifying and recording capital projects, reconciling to the ledger, preparing journals and providing guidance. This role requires someonewith an analytical mind, who has good attention to detail and is looking to develop their skillset.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for identification and recording of capital projects
- Process additions, disposals, depreciation and impairment of Housing Properties to the Fixed Asset register RAM and reconcile balances back to the general ledger
- Reconcile assets under refurbishment back to the general ledger and the Investment and Regeneration Programme
- Prepare journals
- Assist the Financial Accountant in preparing reports for committees and the management accounts
- Provide guidance to the organisation on capital accounting
- Ensure Capitalisation Policy is implemented
- Ensure process maps and controls are in place

**Requirements**:

- AAT qualified or relevant degree and studying towards higher level accountancy exams (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA)
- Experienced in Capital and Fixed Asset Accounting including RAM
- Experience of reconciling fixed asset registers to the general ledger
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Familiar with the Housing SORP (desirable)
- Strong Excel skills
