QA Manager

**Job Title: QA Manager**

**Reports to: Head of QA and Compliance**

Interpersonnel Recruitment is in partnership with a leading organisation to assist with the recruitment of a QA Manager. As the QA Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the QA team, relating to the quality of product, systems, andtraining. Our client is a major provider into the fresh food industry and majority of the soft fruit you purchase from supermarkets has been supplied by them.

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- To manage proactively the team of QA staff so that there is adequate flexible provision of QA staff provided at all operational times.
- Manage Prophet Compliance in all aspects of QA management.
- Provide feedback to growers / procurement / sales team and other 3rd party suppliers about the quality of individual fruit arrivals and other relevant quality information.
- Liaising with production management ensures that standard operating packing procedures are being followed as required and all staff trained appropriately.
- Working with allocations and production team ensure correct pallets and quality standards are allocated to customer base in a timely manner.
- Train and support the other members of the QA team so that they are able to carry out their duties efficiently.
- To liaise directly with the technical department on quality and approval issues.
- Accompany retailer customer personnel on their visits to the Packhouse.
- Accompany auditors (internal or third party) and be confidant in sharing required documentation/traceability details etc with them.
- Assist with the development of new packing processes and any trials.
- To support the Head of Quality and Compliance where required.
- To manage the QA rota to ensure that all areas are sufficiently covered across all shifts.
- To manage the relationship with UK growers packing product.
- Producing KPI results relating to UK season targets for management team on a weekly basis.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Evidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role, preferably within the soft fruit industry.
- Strong appreciation of our business needs and resourcefulness in coming up with solutions to their challenges.
- Ability to relate to key client personnel in a professional and credible fashion.
- Well-developed personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of employees.
- Good interpersonal skills and well-developed leadership and management skills.
- Creativity.
- Ability to delegate effectively and to follow-up as appropriate.
- Ability to work as part of a team with colleagues across professional, operational, and cultural boundaries.
- Proactive approach and prompt responses to all service requests.
- Ability to identify needs and issues and recommend suitable and pragmatic courses of action and solutions, adopting a risk aware approach.
- Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle several tasks at once and meeting deadlines as required.
- Very good organisational skills.
- Good IT skills including experience of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
