**FULL TIME - 40 Hours Per Week - Working Thursday - Monday (2 days off during the week Tuesday / Wednesday)**

**Location: Linton, Maidstone ME17 4BA**

**Own transport advised due to rural location**

This is a full time QA Supervisor role which involves working within in a a chilled Packhouse environment of 10 degrees and the occasional working in a area of 2 degrees.

Evidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role, preferably within the soft fruit industry is essential.

Flexibility is key The start and finish times of shifts and hours worked per day can vary depending on the season and the orders - (typically 8am in UK season and 7am in Import season up until 8pm in both seasons),

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:

- To have a comprehensive understanding of company commitment and focus towards quality and its implementation through the Quality Management System.
- Responsible for all related activities that could affect product safety, legality, authenticity, and quality.
- Maintain standards of health & safety, hygiene and security. Adhere to environmental practices.

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- To have a comprehensive understanding of customer specifications and packing requirements.
- To supervise a team of QAs and their duties.
- To communicate corrective actions on non-conformances through all stages of quality control to the relevant departments - Technical, Procurement, Sales and Operations.
- To carry out the training and mentoring of QA team and ensure compliance to customer specifications and standard operating procedures.
- To maintain a close working relationship with all operational departments and continuous flow of information relating to quality and production performance.
- To liaise with production management and ensure that standard operating packing procedures are being followed as required and all staff trained appropriately.
- Work with allocations and production teams to ensure correct pallets and quality standards are allocated to customer base in a timely manner.
- Provide feedback to growers / procurement and sales team about the quality of individual fruit arrivals and other relevant quality information.
- To support the Head of Quality and Compliance where required.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:

- Evidence of extensive experience working in a comparable role, preferably within the soft fruit industry
- Strong appreciation of our business needs and resourcefulness in coming up with solutions to their challenges
- Well developed personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of employees
- Ability to identify needs and issues and recommend suitable and pragmatic courses of action and solutions, adopting a risk aware approach
- Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle a number of tasks at once and meeting deadlines as required
- Very good organisational skills
- Good IT skills including experience of Word and Excel
