**About the role**

Following a period of expansion and growth, we are seeking a HR Assistant / Administrator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work across the full employee lifecycle, gaining exposure to all aspects of HR. You will be supported by an experienced HR Assistant and Chief People Officer, who works closely with the team.

As an organisation, Barnes are one of the UK’s leading providers of logístical support and warehousing. We have over 120 employees and run a fleet of over 90 vehicles. Prior knowledge of the transport or warehousing industry is not a requirement of the role, as full training will be provided.

**Requirements**:

- Degree educated, 2:1 or above preferred. All disciplines considered. Highly related fields of HR and psychology desirable but not essential.
- A minimum of 1-2 years office experience is essential.
- Driving licence required, own car, and willingness to travel across UK sites when required.
- A clear passion for and interest in HR is essential. Experience and exposure to HR is desirable.
- Maths and English at Grade C / 4 or above.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft.
- Able to work in a faced paced environment, flexible, adaptable, and able to learn quickly.

**Responsibilities**

The responsibilities of this role will be varied and include exposure to all aspects of the HR and the employee lifecycle. This will include HR administration, absence management, recruitment, training, employee engagement, employee relations, employment law, and aspects of people management and leadership more broadly.
