**A Finance Assistant is required in our Rotherham Central Distribution Centre**:
**We're looking for a dynamic and driven person to join our Finance Team in Rotherham.**:

As Finance Assistant you will work alongside both the Financial Controller & Accounts Assistant to ensure that accurate and timely financial information is reported. You will be dealing with control account reconciliations and providing support for management account preparation.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
- Cash posting and allocations in GBP and currencies
- Preparation and reconciliation of monthly bank reconciliations
- Credit card management including allocation of costs and reconciliations
- Assisting with the preparation of statutory financial information
- Maintaining control account balances such as inventory, debtors, creditors, bank etc
- To positively promote the Company and its products and services, and ensure that a professional image is provided at all times to suppliers, customers and colleagues
- To undertake, when requested by the Financial Controller or Directors, additional reasonable tasks and responsibilities not outlined above in order to support the success and continuing performance of the Department and Company
- To abide by the Company’s confidentiality agreement when carrying out all tasks as part of this role.
**Required skills**:
- Preparation of regular bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Maintaining and recording of Company credit cards
- Use of online banking
- Assist with monthly reporting of financial information to Group
- Preparation of accruals and prepayments
- Maintain schedule to support monthly accounts
- You must be able to demonstrate good judgement skills showing sound and logical decision making, and a hands-on approach
- Possess good time-management skills, with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and plan workflow to meet deadlines
- Have the ability to work productively, efficiently and effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focussed working environment
- Excellent organisational skills, demonstrating a logical and methodical approach to all tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work as member of a team
- Have an ordered approach to documentation and procedures
- Excellent accounting software user skills
**Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications Required**:
- Good understanding of business as well as financial issues
- Overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Able to work on modern ERP & IT systems
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and solid understanding of accounting software principles
- Willing to begin AAT training (Study support given)
**Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications Desirable**:
- 3+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
